Barbara Ann Brinkman Creasap, 87, of Hope Mills, NC died unexpectedly, Friday, March 30, 2018 in her home. She was born in Cairo, Illinois on November 10, 1930, the daughter of the late John Paul (Jack) and Ruth Ulsh Brinkman. She married John W. Creasap (who preceded her in death) on June 12, 1948 Barbara was a graduate of the Marion, Ohio public schools. Barbara loved to dance and swim. One her favorite memories was dancing a ballet solo for the opening of the Ohio River Bridge in Cairo. As a little girl she attended a party with her family and the actor Edward Arnold asked her to dance with him. She was also a fine swimmer who won gold medals in local competitions. She worked for a time as a bookkeeper at Mosbachers Jewelry Store in Meadville, PA but her favorite activity was spending time with her family. Barbara and John loved to travel and enjoyed traveling to Europe and the Soviet Union. Family vacations to the Isle of Palms, SC were a highlight of her summers and for several years she lived in Sun City-Hilton Head, SC. She died at Easter, her favorite childhood holiday. She had fond memories of Easter Sunday sunrise services on the banks of the Ohio River. She was formerly a member of Stone United Methodist Church in Meadville and she loved being a part of the congregation at Cumberland United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, NC and especially enjoyed going to Tuesday morning Bible Study followed by lunch with her friend, Lois Patterson. Survivors include a son, Mark A. Creasap (Linda) of Spartanburg, SC; three daughters, Susan D. Creasap (John Hennen) of New Castle, VA; Sharon L. Watt (Dennis) of Cumming, GA; and Shelley A. Hoyt (Shane) of Hope Mills, NC; son-in-law, Bill Bush of Canisteo, NY; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces and four nephews. A daughter, Sandra K. Bush preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at Cumberland United Methodist Church, 2262 George Owen Rd., Fayetteville, NC on Tuesday, April 3 at 1:00 pm. A private burial will be in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville, PA. A celebration of life service will be held in Meadville at a later date. The family suggests memorials be made to Cumberland United Methodist Church, 2262 George Owen Rd., Fayetteville, NC, 28306. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W.
