Barbara J. Holland, 69, of Conneaut Lake, died Sunday, September 24, 2000, at UPMC Horizon Hospital, Greenville Campus following a period of declining health.
She was born February 1, 1931 in Beccaria, PA, a daughter of Thomas L. and Margaret C. Shoff Johnson. She married Lloyd Richard Holland September 1, 1951 in Beccaria and he preceded her in death, August 27, 2000.
She was a 1948 graduate of Beccaria Township High School and a 1952 graduate of Indiana University of PA with a Bachelor's degree in Education. She worked as an elementary and secondary school teacher in the Conneaut School District for a number of years. She also co-owned Conneaut Lake Area Business Assn., instrumental in establishing the Conneaut Lake Arts and Crafts Festival, and was active with the former Conneaut Lake Community Theatre.
She was a member and former trustee of Fifth Street Presbyterian Church, Conneaut Lake.
Survivors include her mother of Beccaria; one daughter, Jacqueline E. Elliott (Charles) of Conneaut Lake; two sons, Rhys Lloyd and David Lloyd Holland, both of Conneaut Lake; two sisters, Dr. Vanessa Burtner of Hingham, MA and Elaine Hempel of Dallas, TX; one brother, Thomas C. Johnson of Irvona, PA; two grandsons, Charles Lloyd and Jacob Tyler Elliott; a sister-in-law, Mary Ida Wood of Atlantic and ten nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father.
Services were held at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.
