Barbara J. Schnarrs

Heaven gained a beautiful soul as Barbara (Bobie) J. Schnarrs passed peacefully into the arms of her savior Jesus Christ on January 1, 2018. If one scripture could describe her, it might be Philippians 4:8, "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." Barbs quiet mission in life was to nourish people around her with love, faith, generosity, and sweet spirit. It was her nature to put the needs and desires of others before her own. Barb began her earthly journey in March 1933, the daughter and fourth child of Winfield G. and Mary Elsie Brant. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard (Dick) Schnarrs. They spent 57 years together, partners in life as well as in business. She was co-owner and silent anchor of Dicks Kitchen Center, Schnarrs Construction Company, Schnarrs Rentals and The Little Gourmet Shop. Though their businesses were successful, Barb cared little for material possessions, preferring a simple life caring for her family. Barb was the loving mother of son Raymond E. Schnarrs and his wife Diane, and daughter Beverly L. (Schnarrs) Scott and her husband Donald. Barb also leaves behind to cherish her memory grandchildren Shauna Warzynak and her husband Andy, Nicole Schnarrs, Jason Scott and his wife Brenda, Jon Scott, Bessie (Scott) Hooks and her husband Rickey, and Ellen Cummings. She also delighted in her great-grandchildren; Mikey Martinez, Jacob Warzynak, Hailey Warzynak, Jonathon Scott, Tristin Scott, Julie Cummings, Jacob Cummings, Kylie Vogel, Sydney Scott and Christopher Yalen. Barbara is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Letha Brant and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers Charles and Richard Brant, and her sister Helen Buckwalter. As a devoted member of Wayland Baptist Church, Barbara served as treasurer, deaconess, teacher and a member of the Board of Faith in Action. At her church there was no task too small or mundane for her to tackle. She faithfully visited the ill and housebound, greeting them with plates of cookies and warm smiles. She graciously opened her home for church picnics and Bible studies. Barb was passionate about flower gardening, walking on the beach and cooking for her family and friends. In her final years, Barb was under the compassionate and expert tending of several wonderful caregivers from Wesbury Help at Home. She and her family were grateful for the opportunity for her to remain safely and comfortably at home during her time of declining health. Family and friends are invited to call at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE on Friday, January 5th from 6:00 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 11:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Daniel Howell of Wayland Baptist Church will officiate.
