Barbara Jack Moon

Barbara Jack Moon, 86, of Meadville and a resident of Meadville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, died there, Saturday, November 23, 2013.

She was born in Kittanning, PA February 18, 1927 a daughter of Paul S. and Kathryn Boohr Jack.  She married Allen R. Moon March 9, 1957 and he preceded her in death September 1, 1992.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School and Allegheny College and taught elementary school first in Conneaut Lake and then in Crawford Central spending most of her career at First District Elementary School.  She loved teaching and really enjoyed all of the students she had over the years.  She also loved spending time and working with her father at Jack’s Pharmacy.  She was an avid dog lover, having several dogs over the years, but her favorites were Dino, Widget and Amber.

She is survived by her brother, William Jack and his wife Mary Jo of Mount Pleasant, SC; a nephew, Paul Jack and his wife Janet of Meadville; two nieces, Deborah Johnson of Rochester, NY and Elizabeth Ann Jack of Mount Pleasant, SC and great nieces and great nephews.

A private family service will be at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
