Berdeen Vanhorn

Mrs. Berdeen VanHorn, 94, formerly of Beaver and a resident of United Methodist Home and Nursing Hospital, widow of Rev. John D. VanHorn, died at the home Sunday, March 18, 1984.

She was born at Cochranton, June 15, 1916, a daughter of Charles and Edith Boylan Braymer.  Her husband died April 13, 1982.

She taught school in Meadville for four years and also taught at Windber Hugh School during WWI while her husband was overseas.  She attended Allegheny Preparatory School and graduated from Allegheny College in 1912.  While at college, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.

Survivors include a son, John F. of Red Hook, NY, two grandchildren and two nieces.

Two brothers preceded her in death.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Scottdale Cemetery, Scottdale.
