Bernice L. (Bea) Cleaveland, 82, of Meadville, died Wednesday, August 11, 1999 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born July 12, 1917 in Penfield, a daughter of the late George E. and Josephine Tallady Williams. She married Earl Neumann in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1960. She subsequently married L. Kenneth Cleaveland in 1964. He survives. She was a 1939 graduate of Clearfield Memorial Hospital Nursing School, receiving her degree as a Registered Nurse. She first worked as a surgical nurse in Cleveland, OH and then as director of RN surgery at Parma Hospital, Parma, OH. She subsequently worked part time as a registered nurse in California. She also volunteered at St. Elizabeth Health Clinic in Tucson, AZ. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Meadville Women's Club. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, J. Edward Neumann (Jacqueline) of Tucson, AZ; a sister, Mrs. R.B. (Bonnell) Hoover of Bug Run; two grandchildren, Michael Neumann and Katherine Clark; one great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Thompson, Mildred Williams, Ruth Bell and Grace Riccadonna. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
