Bernice S. Snodgrass

March 20, 1921 — April 3, 1995

Bernice S. Snodgrass, 74, of Meadville, died Monday, April 3, 1995, at her residence, following an extended illness.

She was born in Pittsburgh, March 20, 1921, a daughter of William B. and Carrie (Hause) Steen.  She married David B. Snodgrass, October 13, 1941.  He survives.

She retired after 20 years of service from the City of Meadville as Receiver of taxes. Prior to that, she was office manager for R. Duane Good, M.D. for 15 years.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School and attended Allegheny College and the Millard Filmore School of Nursing of Buffalo, NY.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Lioness Club, Golden Crown Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, past president of East End Parent Teachers Organization and vice president of the Associated Life Underwriters Assn.

She was also the first Worthy Advisor for Order of Rainbow for Girls when it was chartered here in Meadville.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Mrs. David E. (Carol) Cease of Meadville and Kathleen L. Marendo of Erie; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
