Bertha C. Newell

Bertha C. Newell, 74, of Maui, Hawaii, formerly of Meadville, died Friday, November 24, 1995 at home following a lengthy illness.

She was born April 4, 1921 in Woodcock Township, Crawford County, a daughter of the late John Roy and Laura Belle Humes Campbell.  She married Lawrence B. Newell July 20, 1950.  He preceded her in death June 27, 1994.

She was a homemaker and attended Meadville Alliance Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura Newell of Makawao, Maui, HI; a son, David Newell of San Diego, CA; three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Ruth) Armstrong of Kittanning, Alice Clark of Meadville and Mrs. Alton (Edith) Rabell of Meadville; four brothers, Floyd Campbell of Lakeland, FL, John Campbell of Meadville, Pressley Campbell of Meadville and Robert Campbell of Saegertown and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Greta Laird and Margaret Dahn.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Venango Cemetery.
