Bertha L. Wentz

Bertha L. Wentz, 85, of 16455 John Brown Rd., Guys Mills, PA died at home Thursday, November 14, 2002.

She was born February 5, 1917 in Jewett, OH a daughter of Charles and Hallie Ruckman Dennis.  She married Norman D. Wentz September 8, 1939 and he preceded her in death January 7, 1993.

She was an active member of Lyona Bible Church for over 50 years and she was a born again Christian who served the Lord in word and deed.  She also held bible studies at her home for many years.  As a homemaker, she whistled and hummed while doing her work.  She especially enjoyed her family and was a very loving grandma.

Survivors, include two sons, Dennis D. Wentz and his wife Virginia and Thomas A. Wentz and his wife Kitty both of Guys Mills; a sister, Doris Roae Manuel and her husband Larry of Meadville; a brother, Carl W. Dennis of Meadville; six grandchildren, Amanda Prusia, Gregg Wentz, Kerry Wentz, Trevor Wentz, Keith Wentz and Matthew Wentz, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Keith N. Wentz and a sister, Wilma Ferlin.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Lyona Bible Church, 28825 Lyona Road, Guys Mills, PA 16327.

The funeral and committal service will follow Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lyona Bible Church, with Rev. Michael Fraser, Pastor and Rev. Gerald Walton, Assoc. Pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Lyona Cemetery.
