Bertha Z. Betilian, 105, of Wesbury United Methodist Community since April 8, 1991, died there Tuesday, June 30, 1998 following a period of declining health.
She was born February 1, 1893 in Guys Mills, a daughter of the late Leland and Nancy Gerdon Davison. She married Fred Rodgers and he preceded her in death in 1921. She subsequently married Edward Betilian and he preceded her in death in 1949.
She was a housekeeper, including having worked at age 15 for Congressman Arthur L. Bates. She especially loved nature and flowers.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Mrs. Gary (Carol) Miner of Waupacka, WI; a grandson, Mr. Richard R. Smock of Kissimmee, FL; one sister, Beatrice Smock of Meadville; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nellie Smock; two sons, Frank and Archie Rodgers; a grandson, Rodger Smock; four sisters, Winifred McMichael, Treva Shorts, Marie Davison and Hazel Davison; and three brothers, Ernest, Kenneth and Cue Davison.
Services were held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
