Bessie L. Trout

Bessie L. Trout, 92, a long time Meadville, PA resident and most recently of 17115 Avalon Way, Lawrenceville, NJ died Saturday, September 29, 2001 at Princeton Medical Center, Princeton, NJ.

She was born September 22, 1909 in East Mead Twp., Crawford Co., PA a daughter of the late Hiram and Mollie Reedy Smith.  She married William C. Trout August 12, 1935 and he preceded her in death September 12, 1958.

She was a 1929 graduate of Randolph High School and a 1931 graduate of Meadville Commercial College.  She retired in 1998 as Treasurer of Patrons Mutual Fire Association of Meadville after 68 years of employment.

She attended the Baptist and the Episcopal Churches in Meadville.

Survivors, include a daughter, Dr. Mary Jane Barretta of Lawrenceville, NJ; a son, Dr. William C. Trout, Jr. and his wife Marlene of Meadville; a sister, Eleanor Hamilton of Meadville; a brother, Stanley M. Smith of Meadville; four grandchildren, Dr. Clifton Barretta, Simone Barretta, Nathan Trout and Michael Trout and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ira Smith and Charles Smith and a sister, Margaret Southall.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 870 Diamond Square, Meadville with the Rev. Susan D. Buell, Rector, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville.
