Bessie M. Hankey

Bessie M. Hankey, 80, of Meadville, and a patient at Wesbury United Methodist Community since May 1981, died at Spencer Hospital Saturday, May 26, 1985, after a lengthy illness.

She was born at Oldtown, MD, March 9, 1904, a daughter of Aaron and Myra Jane Cope Cunningham.  She married David Lee Hankey, May 22, 1926.  He survives.

She was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, and a graduate of Meadville Commercial College.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Jean) Beardsley of Citrus Heights, CA; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
