Bessie Mae Goodell

Mrs. Bessie Mae Goodell, 82, died at the Methodist Home, Tuesday, December 1, 1959.  She had been in ill health for some time and on November 11 had suffered a broken hip in a fall.

Mrs. Goodell was born at Lycippus, Westmoreland County, May 10, 1877.  She was a daughter of Jacob S. and Catherine Calloway Foltz.  Educated in the schools of Westmoreland County, she moved to Chicago where she had served as a pianist and vocalist in many choirs of that area.  She had been employed as a bookkeeper in Chicago.

Within the past 10 years, Mrs. Goodell had made her home with the late Rev. Ralph Tidmarsh and Mrs. Tidmarsh.  She entered the Methodist Home from Waterford on February 14, 1956.  She is survived by Mrs. Tidmarsh, her niece, now of Sharon, and several other nieces who reside in the Chicago area.

Mrs. Goodell was a member of Asbury Methodist Church at Westmoreland.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
