Bettie W. Seaman, 91, formerly of Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, passed away there Tuesday, August 27, 2013.
She was born March 16, 1922 in Meadville, a daughter of Clarence and Bertha Denison Ross. She married Clifford J. Seaman October 20, 1941 and he preceded her in death June 30, 1994.
Bettie was a graduate of Meadville High School. She was employed at the David Mead Inn, Holiday Inn, as the dining room manager at the Hotel Conneaut for 9 years, was a former school crossing guard, and as a hostess at Ricci’s Restaurant. She was a former member of the Motorcycle Retreads and Meadville Eagles Aerie 429 Auxiliary including past president.
Bettie was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and was an avid reader.
Survivors include three daughters, Valerie Klett of Cambridge Springs, Roberta Allen of Eaton Rapids, MI, and Sandra Wollam and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Johnathan P. Schmolt, Pastor of St. Brigid Church, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
