Betty Ann Patton, 64, of Cambridge Springs, died Wednesday, July 3, 1996 at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.
She was born in Meadville, July 1, 1932, a daughter of Edward and Viola Frazier Thiess. She was married to James Patton.
She worked for the Tri-County Intermediate Unit for over twenty years retiring in 1995. She also had worked as a student teacher supervisor at Edinboro State College and as a teacher in the Townville School District and the Fort LeBeouf schools.
She was a 1961 graduate of Edinboro with a BA in special education and she received a masters degree from Allegheny College. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Cambridge Springs Women's Prison and was formerly an active member and delegate to the Pennsylvania State Education Assn.
Survivors include her mother, Viola Thiess of Cambridge Springs, a daughter, Brenda Lorenzo of Erie; two brothers, Michael Thiess of Meadville and Philip Evans of Waynesburg and a grandson, Kyle Windahl. She was preceded in death by her father.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
