Betty Irene Buckley

Betty Irene Buckley, 85 of Stoneboro, passed away on June 16, 2018 at the Grove City Medical Center. Betty was born on March 30, 1933 in Franklin to the late Anton and Mildred Beach Krizon, she was one of sixteen children. She worked for many years cleaning houses in addition to raising her children. Betty married her beloved husband, George Buckley, on December 3, 1949, he preceded her in death on March 16, 2000. Betty was a longtime member of the Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church, she was a very faithful woman and loved to read her bible. She loved to read, mow her grass, and tend to her flower beds. She especially loved quilting, making numerous quilts over the years and giving them away. She also helped with Meals on Wheels, was a member of the Rebekahs, and enjoyed having tea and spending time with her family. Betty is survived by her daughter, Lavonne Metzger and husband James of Hermitage, grandchildren Randall Michael and wife Lisa of Walnut, IL, Melissa Ryan of Mercer, Brent Buckley of North Carolina, Carrie Ann Mikulski of Las Vegas, NV, and Shawna Ziegler and husband David of Mercer, great-grandchildren Randall Jr, Riley, Shelby, Aaron, Victoria, Twila, Autumn, and Jeffrey, brothers John Krizon and wife Helen, Leroy Krizon and wife Judy and Daniel Krizon and wife Kay, sisters Elzada McFarlane and Sandra Morrow, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son, George “Butch” Buckley, two infant children Daniel and Jennifer Buckley, as well as ten siblings. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 1 pm until 4 pm on Friday, June 22, 2018. A funeral service will follow visitation at 4 pm at the funeral home with the Reverend Earl Dykes, associate pastor of Methodists United in Faith, and Reverend Ray Hudson, Betty’s nephew from Christian Assembly of Greenville, officiating.
