Betty Jane Roth Rotkievecz

Betty Jane Roth Rotkievecz, 82 died Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born May 30, 1935 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of Anthony Rotkievecz, who emigrated from Poland, and Mary Inchiosa.  She was a 1954 graduate of Meadville High School and served for 2 years in the Women’s Army Corps and was stationed in Japan for 11 months.

She graduated from the Crawford County Vo-Tech LPN nursing program and worked as an LPN for 8 years at Meadville Medical Center and then retired from Polk Center after working for 16 years also as an LPN.  In her retirement, she volunteered as a guiding artist at the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute and her own paintings were shown in its art gallery.  She also drove for the Sandy Lake and Fredonia Amish and had many friends, whom she dearly loved in the Amish Community

She was a talented artist, painting on canvas and she loved fishing, tying her own fishing lures, riding her BMW motorcycle, cooking gourmet dinners and gardening.  She was also a member of the New Lebanon Community Church.

She is survived by a brother, Frank Roth and his wife Julia of Meadville; a niece, Cheryl Roth Hudson of Atlantic; a nephew, Steven Roth of Conneaut Lake and two great nieces, Chelsea Hudson of Hilton Head, SC and Kimone Roth of Erie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Jill Roth

Calling hours will be Thursday from 3-6 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Virginia Gadsby, Pastor of New Lebanon Community Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
