Betty L. Miller

November 13, 1917 — August 24, 2005

Betty L. Miller, formerly of Raymond Drive, Meadville and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community died there, Wednesday, August 24, 2005.

She was born in Youngstown, OH November 13, 1917 a daughter of Thurman and Gertrude Freyermuth Shilling.  She married Harry A. Miller and he preceded her in death January 15, 1995.

She worked as a sales clerk for 9 years at the W.T. Grant Co. store in Meadville.  She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ.  She also worked for several years on the West Mead Twp. Election Board.  She loved to play cards and was a member of a monthly card club.  She also was a member of the Neason Hill Women’s Group.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors, include six daughters, Martha Zuver and her husband Robert of Meadville, Virginia Boyd and her husband Russell of Guys Mills, Glenna Kaputa and her husband Mike of Meadville, Donna Mikley and her husband John of Gettysburg, Norma Morgan and her husband James of Meadville and Barbara Lewis and her husband Robert of Mercer; one son, John T. Miller and his partner Joetta Robison of Meadville; one sister, Jeane Bare and her husband Donald of Homestead, FL; one brother, Donald Shilling of West Palm Beach, FL, fifteen grandchildren, two step grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, numerous step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert T. Shilling.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11 a.m.at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon, Pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 30 N. Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
