Betty Maxine Reichel

Betty Maxine Reichel, age 96, of Reading, PA formerly of Meadville, passed away Monday morning February 24, 2025.

She was born in Meadville on August 5, 1928, to the late Frank and Kathryn (Schmitt) Smith. She was employed as a nurse in the Meadville area for a number of years. 

Betty married her beloved husband, Leonard W. Reichel on May 14, 1977, he preceded her in death on March 17, 1985. She and her husband were devoted members of St. Paul’s Reformed Church, Meadville.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Patricia (Dan) Hall of Denver, PA; Joanne (Joseph) Anderton of Hagerstown, MD; and Nancy (Charles) Braymera of Orefield, PA, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, brother Linford Smith and a sister Dorothy Porter.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday 2-28-25 at 10:00 AM in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. MEADVILLE, 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville Rev. Loren Little, officiating. Family and friends will be received on Friday 2-28-25 from 9:30 AM until the time of service. 

Interment will take place in Greendale Cemetery.
