Betty S. Waid

Betty S. Waid, 63, a housewife, of Meadville, died at Meadville Medical Center, January 3, 1992, after an illness of several weeks.

She was born in Marion, VA, September 29, 1928, a daughter of Steele and Verdie Phipps.  She married William E. Waid, February 22, 1984.  He survives.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cumberland, MD.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Sandra Benson of York, Lizabeth Monthomery of Huntington Beach, CA and Joy O'Connor of Hedgesville, WV; a son, Philip Everhart of Ft. Myers, FL; her mother, Verdie Phipps of Radford, VA; three sisters, Mary Tucker of Amherst, VA, Patricia Pafford of Alexandria, VA and Barbara Rouse of Albuquerque, NM; a brother, Edward Phipps of Radford, VA and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James Phipps.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
