Betty T. Carr

Betty T. Carr, 78, formerly of 16560 Davis Rd., Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Meadville April 6, 1928, a daughter of the late William F. and Nellie Cross Hogue.

She attended Meadville Public Schools and worked at the former American Viscose for 38 years, retiring in 1985 as a creeler.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, her dog Pepper, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include 2 sons, David L. Carr and his wife Helen of Meadville and Dennis Carr and his wife Linda of Northville, MI; 2 daughters, Nancy Hoegerl and her companion Dennis Kimple and Judy Needler, all of Meadville; 3 sisters, Ruth Ann Amdal of Saegertown; Genevieve Mastrianna and her husband Dominick of Hicksville, NY; and Margaret Baker of Meadville; 1 brother, Fred Hogue and his wife Faye of Hope Mills, NC; 5 grandchildren, Michael and Lori Carr, Samantha Ashe, Stephanie Beier, and Michele Shuler; 2 step-grandchildren, Jamie Hoegerl and Daniel Cherry; 3 great-grandchildren, Spencer, Madeline, and Ryan Ashe; step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Donald, Malcolm, Robert, Walter, and Victor Hogue; 1 sister, Rita Grace Hogue; and 1 grandson, Joseph Jason Hoegerl.

Calling hours are Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Steve Anderson of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church officiating.
