Beyrl Keifer Patton

June 17, 1895 — December 23, 1989

Beyrl Keifer Patton, 94, formerly of Aliquippa, died Saturday, December 23, 1989, in Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, where she had been a resident since May 1984, following a sudden illness.

Born June 17, 1895, Independence Township, a daughter of the late David and Elizabeth Butler Keifer, she married Lester S. Patton, Sr. in 1916.  She was employed as a school teacher in the Hopewell Area School District, retiring in 1960.  She was a 63 year member of Mt. Carmel Presbterian Church, a former leader of Good Cheer Class of the Church, a past president of the church women's assn., and was the superintendent of the primary and intermediate Sunday School classes for 20 years.

She was a graduate of Indianna University of Pennsylvania, a past president of Hopewell Area School District Teacher's Assn., a life member of the Beaver County Teacher's Assn., Pennsylvania Retired Teacher's Assn., and the National Education Assn.  She was also a past regent of the Colonel Henry Bouquet Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Beaver Valley, and a member and past president Beaver County Alumni of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She was chosen a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Sorority for women educators, and was a life member of the Iona Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Aliquippa.

Surviving are a son, Lester S. Patton, Jr. of Murrells Inlet, SC; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Marian) Bentel of Meadville; three grandchildren, Gayle Piroli of Monaca, Gary Patton of Summerfield, FL and Barbara Rosenbaum of Laguna Hills, CA and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Aliquippa.
