Bill Sleptzoff, 72, of Saegertown died Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Meadville Medical Center.
He was born September, 4, 1949 in Munich, Germany a son of Alexander and Irene W. Eisen Sleptzoff. He married Paula Williams in 1994 and she survives.
He was a 1967 graduate of Meadville High School and received three degrees in Math, Geography and Computer Science from the former Edinboro College. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving stateside in the US Air Force from 1971-1974 and then in the reserves until 1985 retiring with the rank of Major. He worked as a wire EDM specialist for many area Tool and Die firms, most recently being Vision Tool.
He was active in the Republican Party and enjoyed most outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed photography and traveling. His greatest love was spending time with his wife, Paula.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Paula of 27 years, include: two step-children, Jason Hutchinson of Houtzdale, PA and Sarah Brown (Clay) of Greenville, SC; five step-grandchildren, Will Hutchinson in Texas, Tucker Hutchinson (fiance, Christina) of Venango, Chayton Hutchinson of Venango, David Brown of Greenville, SC and Adelaide Brown of Greenville, SC; a brother, Nick Sleptzoff of Bunker Hill, WV; a sister-in-law, Robin Sleptzoff of Eldersburg, MD and five nieces and nephews, Christina Graham of Edinboro, Jeremiah Sleptzoff of Myrtle Beach, SC, Katryna Sleptzoff of Chicago, IL, Natasha Sleptzoff of Fayetteville, NC and James Sleptzoff of Eldersburg, MD.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alexander Sleptzoff, Jr.
Calling hours will be Monday, February 7, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The family requests that everyone be properly masked.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Walter Clark, of New Beginnings Church of God, officiating.
Interment with military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006 will be in Greendale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Venango Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 157, Venango, PA 16440 or the Baron-Forness Library, Edinboro University, 200 Tarton Road, Edinboro, PA 16444.
