Blanche Ann Thompson, 104, of 1097 South Main St., Meadville was called home on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 3:00 a.m.
Blanche was born in Columbus, OH on May 25, 1918, to Willie Breckenridge and Benjamin Tagard.
After attending Central High School in Columbus, OH she worked supporting the community at the Godman Guild Center. Exploring her roots, she ventured to Meadville, PA, and met the love of her life, Luther Thompson. They were married in a quaint home ceremony hosted by one of her closest friends Anna Mae Randall. As a supportive wife of the war effort, she maintained their home as he fought for his country in World War II.
She is preceded in death by her late husband Luther Thompson, her sons Russell Tynes, Clarence Thompson, William Thompson, and Robert Thompson, and her daughter Sheila Thompson.
She is survived by her children Rilley Mae Thompson, Benjamin Thompson, Garnetta King (Michael), Alice Thompson, Tarenza Peterson, and Sabrina Tate along with a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Blanche Ann Thompson was the epitome of love and kindness. We can never express how gracious we are that God lent his angel to this world to grace our presence with her light. Today we return our walking angel to her heavenly home.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, December 21st from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where her Homecoming will be held at 12:00 p.m. followed by burial in Greendale Cemetery. A Repass will be held at St. Brigid Church social hall from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m.
