Mrs. Blanche L. Collins, 87, a resident of the Methodist Home for the Aged for two years, died there Saturday evening, March 14, 1970, after a long illness.
She was born in Salem Township, Mercer County, October 12, 1881, a daughter of Warren and Julena Matthews Flick. She was the widow of William D. Collins.
Mrs. Collins was a graduate of the teacher's course at Fredonia Institute and taught school in Salem Township for many years. She also was employed at one time at Polk State School.
Mrs. Collins was employed as a bookkeeper with Penn Power Co. in Sharon until her retirement.
She was a member of First Methodist Church at Sharon and McDowell Circle 44, Protected Home Circle.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Laura Woolverton and Mrs. Mildred Reinhart, both of Sharon and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Stevenson Cemetery.
