Blanche M. Johnston

Mrs. Blanche M. Johnston, 89, a resident of the Methodist Home on North Park Avenue, died at City Hospital Sunday evening, July 26, 1970, after an illness of three weeks.

Mrs. Johnston entered the Ida M. Cribbs Home at Conneautville, December 2, 1949, and was transferred to the Methodist Home on Park Avenue when it opened July 7, 1952.

She was born in Albion, December 23, 1880, a daughter of James and Jennie Lavery McCommons.  She was the widow of Frank M. Johnston.

Mrs. Johnston was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Albion and the Order of the Eastern Star, Erie Chapter 21.

Surviving are one brother, Lt. Col. John L. McCommons, retired of Holly Hill, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
