Miss Blanche Pantall, 96, United Methodist Home and Nursing Hospital, formerly of Wilkinsburg, Oil City, and Ocala, FL, died at the nursing home Sunday, November 20, 1983, after an extended illness.
She was born at Punxsutawney, June 19, 1887, a daughter of William Barclay and Elsie Jane Enterline Pantall.
She had retired from Taylor-Alderdice High School in Pittsburgh where she had been a teacher; she also had taught school at Sykesville, Byronville, GA and in the Pittsburgh public schools. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Oil City. She was a life member of Pittsburgh retired teacher's assn., and a 1915 graduate of Slippery Rock State Normal School and 1930 graduate of the former Carnegie Institute for the Fine Arts.
She is survived by six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and four nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Randolph Township.
