Bonnie L. Button

Bonnie L. Button, 69, of Conneaut Lake, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born June 29, 1944 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of Merle and Helen James Sager.  She married John C. Button March 16, 1963 and he survives.

Bonnie was a 1962 graduate of Sherman Central High School, Sherman, NY.  She was employed in retail sales at Weldon’s, Fashion Bug, and Walmart, all of Meadville.

Bonnie was a charter and life-member of Conneaut Lake Area Ambulance Service and member of Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department Station 3 and was one of the first female volunteer firefighters in Pennsylvania.

Bonnie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and animal lover of all kinds but especially cats.  She loved her time spent with her grandsons and was an active caregiver for them following her retirement.

Survivors, in addition to her loving husband John of 50 years, include a daughter, Penny Clark and her husband Gary of Conneaut Lake; two sons, Christopher Button and his wife Alex of Vienna, VA and Keith Button and his wife Valerie of Conneaut Lake; her father, Merle Sager of Frewsburg, NY; four grandsons, John (Jack), Ryan, Nathaniel, and Daniel Button; two sisters, Nancy Johnston of Lakewood, NY and Gale Frey and her husband Richard of Panama, NY; a brother, Kim Sager and his wife Kimberly of Columbus, IN; and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake.

The funeral and committal service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 240 N. Third St., Conneaut Lake with the Revs. Jay Sterling and Dave Brumagin officiating.

Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.
