Bonnie L. Dillon, 85, of Meadville, died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Wesbury Hillside Home.

She was born July 20, 1927 in Franklin, a daughter of Russell and Beulah McMillen Carson.  She married Donald E. Dillon May 2, 1953 and he preceded her in death October 8, 2003.

Bonnie was a 1945 graduate of Kane High School and a 1949 graduate of Clarion State Teacher’s College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.  She was a homemaker and had taught at Titusville High School for 3 years.

An active member of the First Christian Church, Bonnie was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the Victory Class.  She served as a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Jan R. Van Tuil and her husband Kurt of Meadville; four grandchildren, Benjamin J. Van Tuil and his wife Abigail, Candice J. Van Tuil, Christy J. Futrell and her husband David, and Laurie F. Minshull and her husband Joe; two step-grandchildren, Rachel M. Sullinger and her husband Kenny and John Michael Pratt; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted R. Carson and his wife Carol of Kane; and a son-in-law, Jon D. Pratt and his wife Cindy of Newton Falls, OH.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Pratt and an infant brother.

Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Roger Smith of First Christian Church officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
