Brenda Marie Heme

Brenda Marie Heme, age 81 of Guys Mills, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, peacefully at Rolling Fields Elder Care Community.

She was born on January 27, 1943, in Meadville, a daughter of the late Lyle B. and Virginia (Rice) Stevens.

She was a 1960 graduate of Cochranton High School and on November 18, 1967, Brenda married Jerry J. Heme, he passed away October 30, 2005.

She was employed at Penncrest School District where she worked at Townville Elementary School, Maplewood High School, Saegertown Middle School, and Crawford County Vo-Tech. Before her retirement in 2000 she had worked for 17 years at the Penncrest Administration Office as the plant and transportation secretary. While working for the school district she was involved with several organizations at Maplewood Jr-Sr high school, including yearbook advisor, girls’ volleyball parents’ group, football boosters, cheerleading, and ticket sales at athletic events. She had previously been employed in the medical records department of Spencer Hospital, with Dr. Diogenes A. Saavedra, Meadville, and Dr. Paul T. Poux, Guys Mills.

Brenda was a member of St. Hippolyte Church, served as coordinator with the religious education program, rosary altar society, and parish council of St. Hippolyte Catholic Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Anne M. Robinson and her husband Ernie of Edinboro; a son, Joseph P. Heme and his wife Tammy of Guys Mills; a brother, David L. Stevens and his wife Delight of Girard; two sisters, Beverly A. Sackett and her husband Gary of Meadville, Lorraine A. Massung and her husband David of Meadville; grandchildren, Jordan, Bradley, and Rachel Motter, Steven and Breanna Heme, Arica (Joe) Berger, Bethany (Dustin) Shaw, Raymond (Jessica) Moritz; great grandchildren, Micheal and Jeremiah Wickstrom, Logan Shaw, Kamrin and Lexi Moritz, and Charlie Berger. Many nieces, nephews and longtime friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant son Bradley Joseph Heme.

Calling hours will be Monday, August 5, 2024, from 3 to 7 pm at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 11:00 at St. Hippolyte Church, 25997 State Hwy 27, Guys Mills with Fr. Jeff Lucas as Celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff that provided such excellent care for her and became her extended family at both Rolling Fields and Juniper Village.
