Brian L. Callahan

October 18, 1952 — January 13, 2003

Brian L. Callahan, 50, of 10337 Center Drive, died unexpectedly, Monday Jan. 13, 2003, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Meadville, Oct. 18, 1952, a son of James P. & Nellie Peterson Callahan, Sr. He married Waneta Anderson July14, 1973, and she survives.

He was a grinder at Advanced Cast Products where he had been employed for the past 14 years, and was the shop steward for the Union.  He had been a truck drive for Mayflower Moving and Storage, and also with his Father-in-law, Clayton Anderson, with Allied Van Lines, for a brief period.

He was a 1970 graduate of Meadville High School, a member of the United Steel Workers of America, District #10, Local #1917.  He enjoyed his family, fishing, rock music, and his pet dog, Phoebe.

Survivors in addition to his wife of 30 years, include 2 daughters, Julia Callahan and Jennifer Callahan, both at home; his mother, Nellie Callahan of Meadville; 4 brothers, James P. Callahan, Jr. and his wife Carol of Meadville, Daniel M. Callahan of Lantana, FL, Patrick J. Callahan of Conneaut Lake, and Michael J. Callahan of Meadville and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James P. Callahan, Sr.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Rocco Tito, of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
