Brice S. Walker, 96, of Lakeland, FL, died at Lakeland General Hospital Wednesday, January 26, 1977, after a sudden illness.
He was born in Randolph Township, August 29, 1880, a son of William and Emma McDill Walker. He married Clara Huber on May 25, 1904. She died May 24, 1974. Mr. Walker taught for 23 years in Randolph schools and later was employed as carpenter foreman for the former Mill Run Lumber Co. in Meadville. He formerly was an officer for the Crawford Telephone Co. at Guys Mills and also once was justice of the peace for Guys Mills. He sang in a male quartet in the area for many years and was a member of Randolph Grange and of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Lakeland.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John (Clarice) Houser of Lakeland; four sons, Hubert C. of Hollywood, FL, and Maurice P. of Lakeland, Norman B. of Hudson, OH and Laddie O. Walker of Meadville; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne and two sisters.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
