Brigida Louise Tyler, 83, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died Monday, July 4, 2005 at the Meadville Medical Center.
She was born May 29, 1922 a daughter of Samuel and Mary Nolletti Caponi. She married Dr. David Tyler May 29, 1954 and he preceded her in death September 14, 1994.
She was a 1940 graduate of Grove City High School and a 1944 graduate of Spencer Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for a few years as an Registered Nurse at Spencer Hospital and then at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, VA. She also assisted in her husband’s medical practice when they lived in Waynesboro, VA. She was always very helpful to other people. She also was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothing.
She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include: two sisters, Helen Puntureri and her husband Frank of Pittsburgh and Josephine Santoro and her husband Frank of Meadville; one brother, Rev. Jerome Caponi of Yoakum, TX and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Angeline Deaderick.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. Scripture prayer service will be Friday at 4 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville with Rev. Richard Allen as celebrant.
Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
