Bruce Alan McWilliams, 50, of Glendale, AZ passed away at his home Thursday, June 21, 2012.
He was born in Meadville, November 6, 1961 a son of William H. and Susan Hickernell McWilliams. He married Fatima Mesik and she survives.
He was a 1981 graduate of Meadville High School and attended Edinboro University studying psychology and classical piano. Bruce was extremely ambitious and intelligent. He held many jobs in the Meadville area including Lord Corp and Advance Auto. He was currently employed with the Internal Revenue Service in Phoenix.
He was a friend of the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing and hiking. Music was also a great interest and he enjoyed playing guitar with his brother John. He also enjoyed cooking and reading.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Fatima, include: his mother and stepfather, Sue and Lee Stanford of Meadville; four brothers, John C. McWilliams and his wife Beth of Baton Rouge, LA, Steven J. McWilliams of Guys Mills, Douglas E. McWilliams of Stoneboro and Darrell D. McWilliams of Guys Mills; two step-sons, Nicki Mesik of Glendale, AZ and Tarik Mesik of Bosnia; an aunt, Kay Earle and her husband Dave of Seattle, WA; three uncles, James D. (Harmony) Hickernell of Meadville, Gary L. Hickernell and his wife Barbara of Ossining, NY and Donald C. Hickernell and his wife Cindy of Spartansburg and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, William H. McWilliams, maternal grandparents, James and Kathryn Hickernell, paternal grandparents, James and Ida McWilliams and cousins, Bob Parsons, Mick Henessey, Harry Parsons and Billy McWilliams.
Services and burial were held in Glendale, AZ.
The local memorial service will be Sunday, July 1st at Wild Country Dance Hall (in the Knuth Complex), located at the corner of Rt. 19 and 198, Saegertown. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. with the service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rachel Johns, officiating. A luncheon will follow.
