Bruce E. Lallier, 80 of Vernon Twp, passed away on February 28, 2025, at the Marquette Hospice House. Bruce was born on May 1, 1944, in Waterbury, CT to the late Richard and Hilda (Poudim) Lallier. He was a graduate of Crosby High School and the University of Connecticut. He began his career in Counseling in Connecticut in Rehab Treatment Facilities. He became the Director of the McDonnaugh House in CT and then moved to Meadville in 1988 to become the Director of Stepping Stones at MMC. He then went on to work as a unit manager at SCI Albion, retiring in 2003.
Bruce Proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1966. He served for 4 years at Reimstein Air Force Base in Germany until 1970. He achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was very proud of his service to his Country.
Bruce was a member of the Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Dept, served as a Vernon Township Supervisor for 6 years and served on the Vernon Planning Commission for 12 years. He was always willing to help others and encourage others to achieve their goals. He was an adventurer, having hitch hiked across the country to then join fellow Merchant Marines on the first cruise along the Alaskan Coast, getting his picture in National Geographic.
In his spare time, he enjoyed handicapping horses, fishing, golfing, and mowing with his John Deere Tractor. He was passionate about his sports teams, specifically UConn Basketball, New York Yankees Baseball, and Meadville Bulldogs Hockey. He enjoyed traveling as well. Above all, Bruce loved to spend time with his wonderful family and friends
Bruce married his beloved wife: Barbara (Getchell) Lallier on November 9, 1991, she survives at home. Also surviving are his stepsons: Steven Brunner of Portersville and James (Jennie) Brunner of Asheville, NC., grandchildren: Kelsey (Ben) Luciani and their son Liam, Olivia (Victor) Perez and their sons Grey and Fennec, Jade Brunner, Claire Brunner, and Reuben Brunner, brother: Richard Lallier of GA, as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents Bruce was preceded in death by his sister: Claire Safford, and brothers: William and David Lallier.
Bruce's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Meadville Medical Center, Marquette Hospice House, and Dr. Supreys, also all the prayers and support from family and friends.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC – MEADVILLE & CONNEAUT LAKE. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in August.
Interment will take place in Greendale Cemetery.
