Bruce T. Mason

Bruce T. Mason, 83, formerly of Meadville, and current resident of Valencia Woods Nursing Center, Valencia, died there Monday, December 22, 1997 following a period of declining health.

He was born July 9, 1914 in Meadville, a son of the late Arch and Jean Fraser Mason.  He married Ferne Snodgrass June 12, 1939.  She preceded him in death January 26, 1982.

Mr. Mason was a 1932 graduate of Meadville High School and had attended Allegheny College.  He worked for 33 years at the former Avtex, retiring in 1979 as a production operator.  He previously worked at Talon for 10 years.  He particularly enjoyed reading and was a history buff.

He was a member of Pleasantview Alliance Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gary B. (Shirley Jean) Mason of Cranberry Township and Stephen C. Mason of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Mason, Jonathan Stephen Mason, Tammy Jean Spielman and James William Mason and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Rocky Glen Cemetery.
