Bryan E. Dodson, 58 of New Vernon Township, Stoneboro, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 2, 2019. Bryan was born on October 11, 1960 in Claridon Township, Ohio, to Twila A. Fox Dodson of Greenville and the late James E. Dodson. Bryan worked for a number of years as a driver for Anderson Coach in Greenville and was known by his handle “Bull Dog Puppy”. He loved driving bus, engaging with the passengers, and often repaired his own bus on the road when needed. On several occasions he was honored with the "O.D. Anderson Alaskan Highway Award" for exceptional service as well as "Driver of Distinction". Afterward he started and grew his own business, America Garage Doors, also known for exceptional service to his customers. Bryan was an extremely friendly person, he loved everyone and was larger than life, becoming friends with most everyone he met. He had an amazing sense of humor and was famous for his “true stories”. He was very social, enjoyed eating with friends, making memories, gathering new experiences and having “shindigs”. He was known for his love of outdoor activities, such as cruising on his motorcycle, camping, hunting, fishing, as well as bowling. He worked on many building projects and was constantly renovating his home. Bryan attended the Oak Grove Church and his faith was very important to him. He enjoyed listening to and singing classic hymns. Bryan had a special way of sharing his faith through the love and kindness he showed for others. In addition to his mother, Bryan is survived by his fiancé, Sally McConnell, children Whitney Rutherford and husband Justin of Harrisburg, Drew Dodson of Dalton City, IL, brother Eric Dodson and wife Rhonda of Xenia, OH, sister Donna Boyd and husband Scott of Stoneboro, grandchildren Liam and Evan Rutherford, and Conner and Remington Dodson, nieces and nephews Jessica, Justin, Rachel, and Rebecca, as well as many great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Bryan was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Wayne Herrin. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of SANDY LAKE, 3236 S. Main St., where family and friends are welcome from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday, February 8, and from 10-11 am on Saturday, February 9. A funeral service will follow visitation at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am with the Reverend Randy Ritchey, Pastor of Oak Grove Church, Officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
