C. Ellsworth Cutshall, 88, of Meadville, died Wednesday, October 14, 1987, at the home of his daughter, following a two-month illness.
He was born in East Fairfield Township, May 30, 1899, a son of Ira and Mary Heath Cutshall.
He married Mabel Foster November 9, 1929. She survives.
Mr. Cutshall had retired in 1968 from the acetate department of the former American Viscose Co., after 30 years of employment. Previously, he had worked for several years at the Otto Milk Co. of New Bethlehem.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a former usher at the church, and was also a member of the Wesley Crusaders Sunday School class of the church. He was also a member of Lodge 408 F&AM; Solomon Royal Arch Chapter 191; and Northwestern Commandry 25, Knights Templar.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Zane (Shirley) Nossokoff of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Karl (Virginia) Gilbert of Guys Mills; several nieces and nephews; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Edward; four sisters, Ruby McGill, Hazel Umstead, Luella Greggs and Jessie Gaub; five brothers, William, Gordon, Floyd, Glenn and Arden Cutshall.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
