C. J. Leon Williams, 96, of Meadville, died Sunday, November 6, 1988, at the Crawford County Home and Hospital, Saegertown, following a brief period of failing health.
Mr. Williams was born in Johnsonburg, July 19, 1892, a son of Irvin C. and Edith Workman Williams. He married Anita Phillips September 17, 1932. She survives.
He had been a tool and die maker and later was an antique collector. He was a life-member of Masonic Lodge 612, Johnsonburg and a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Binghamton, NY; Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie; Crawford County Shrine Club; Taylor Hose Co., Meadville and Meadville Elks Lodge 219.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Gabor of Johnsonburg, Mrs. Gladys Wolff of New Columbia and Mrs. Geraldine Forrest of St. Marys and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Calhoun and Lorriane O'Neil and one brother, Irvin Williams.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Lyona Cemetery.
