C. Louise McQuaid, 78, passed away Peacefully at her home in Sandy Lake on the afternoon of January 26, 2018. Surrounded by her loved ones the home was filled with joy as they came together to celebrate the life of this most amazing woman. She continued to light up the room with her beautiful smile and kept everyone in line with a wave of her finger until the end. The hospice nurse exclaimed that even in her final hours she had one of the strongest heartbeats she’s ever heard. This is no surprise to the people that knew her, as this was the most exercised muscle in her body. A heart of gold and truly selfless she has left behind a true legacy. Louise was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Marian Gadsby and son Frank Kerr. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Tom McQuaid, Children and spouses: Cindy and Robert Blinco, Randy and Shannon Kerr, Brenda and Jim Thompson, Peg Kerr Reddick, as well as 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 1 brother, and 2 sisters. Louise retired as a Supervisor after 28 years at Polk Center, ran the Family Farm alongside her husband, worked as a caregiver and was a faithful Disciple of Christ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Monday, January 29, 2018.
