Carl A. Blocher, Jr.

Carl A. Blocher, Jr., 76, of Conneaut Lake, died Sunday, October 21, 1999 at the Crawford County Care Center.

He was born January 2, 1923, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Carl A. and Lula Wilson Blcoher, Sr.  He married Margaret L. Hood January, 29, 1946.  She survives.

He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the South Pacific during World War II.  He worked as a Pittsburgh police officer for 24 years, retiring in 1973.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Fort Pitt #1.

He was a member of Faith and Grace Fellowship of Meadville.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of over 53 years, include five daughters, Donna L. Lauritzen (Thomas) of McMurray, Patricia A. Streng (Mark Kozar) of Pittsburgh, Katherine I. Redington (Michael) of Austintown, OH, Suzan Lockhart of Conneaut Lake and Carol G. Shellito (Mark Fox) of Townville; nine grandchildren, John and Megan McShane, William Streng, Susan, Michael and Erick Redington, Adam and Grant Lockhart and Christy Crowley; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Eleanor Encose of Portersville.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Schenk and one brother, Warren Blocher.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
