Carl N. Sutliff, Sr., 78, Woodcock Township, died Monday, August 29, 1977, at City Hospital where he had been a patient for one month.
A son of Edgar C. and Olive Clute Sutliff, he was born August 12, 1899, at Steamburg. He married Ida Silder August 25, 1920. For the last 10 years he was employed by Asbestos Service Co. of Youngstown. Prior to that he was self employed in the Meadville area as a painting and papering contractor. He was a life member of Local 476, Brotherhood of Painters, Decorators and Paperhangers of America, Youngstown. He also was a member of French Creek Valley Grange and Pomona Grange.
Survivors, in addition to his widow, include; three sons, Albert D. Sutliff of Los Angeles, Carl N. Sutliff, Jr. of Saegertown and Richard A. Sutliff of Meadville; two brothers, Elton R. and Clifford S. Sutliff of Meadville; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
