Carlton Luce

Carlton Luce, 83, former area resident, died Tuesday evening at Sarasota, FL, where he had lived the last 13 years.

A son of R. Wallace and Ellen Shaffer Luce, he was born at Black Ash and moved to Meadville in 1918.  He lived here until 1944 when he moved to Sarasota.

He was a carpenter's foreman for the Erie Railroad before his retirement in 1938.  He was a member of Cussewago Lodge, IOOF.

Survivors include a daugher, Mrs. Ione Hendrix of Sarasota; a son, Wayne L. Luce of Youngstown; a brother, Leo L. Luce of Black Ash; and two grandsons.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
