Carol D. Moon

Carol D. Moon, 71, of Sandy Lake, passed away on October 30, 2021. Carol was born on January 28, 1950, in Greenville to the late Harry and Catherine (VanVerth) Fairlamb. She was a graduate of Lakeview High School and went on to earn her RN at Jameson School of Nursing and her BSN at Penn State. She worked for many years as a home health nurse through Greenville Hospital. Carol was married to her beloved husband, James N. Moon; he preceded her in death on July 25, 2020. Carol enjoyed reading a wide variety of books. She enjoyed shooting with Women In The Outdoors and singing with the Bach Society. She was talented at needlework and embroidery and enjoyed making custom items for friends and family. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes and collecting recipes. She was a member of the Ladyworth Rebekah Lodge #328 in Sandy Lake and was a Christian by Faith. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Carol is survived by her children, Fairlight Dennison of Sandy Lake and her children, Damien and Faith; Carrie Black and her husband, Pete, of Highlands Ranch, CO, and their son, Owain; James Moon, and his wife, Nancy, of Cottonwood Falls, KS; Pam Kilgore, and her husband, James, of Polk; June Moon Williams of SC; Amber Moon of Australia; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings Lillie Miller and husband Charles of Mercer; Helen Process and husband Daniel of Centerville; and Harry Fairlamb and wife Donna of Stoneboro; as well as many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 12 pm – 2 pm on Monday, November 8. Funeral service will be private. Interment will take place in Union Home Cemetery.
