Carol E. Newhard

Carol E. Newhard, 70, of Meadville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, August 09, 2014 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Meadville, October 20, 1943 the daughter of Paul and C. June (Beardsley) Beerbower.  She married Paul W. Newhard June 24, 1961 and he survives.

She was a 1961 graduate of Saegertown High School.  She worked at various places over the years including Avtex and Calvary Baptist Preschool, but enjoyed her life as a homemaker, being an excellent wife and mother.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  She was an avid reader, especially of her Bible, enjoyed crossword puzzles, card and board games, traveling, especially a good cruise and going to her grandchildren’s sporting events.  She was known as Grammy Carol to many.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Paul of 53 years, include: four children, Donna Lawrason and her husband Don of Andover, OH, and Robert Newhard and his fiancée Sharon, Bill Newhard and his wife Melissa and Denise Hough and her husband Bruce all of Meadville; thirteen grandchildren, Donald Lawrason and his fiancée Stephanie of Meadville, Cory Newhard of Meadville, Nicholas Newhard of Michigan, Justin Newhard and his wife Jessica currently deployed in the military in Japan, Shannon Lawrason of Meadville, Ashley Newhard and her fiancé Liko of Las Vegas, NV and Christian Hough, Chelsea Roberts and her husband Jeremy, Alexander Hough, Logan Newhard, Jacob Hough, Hannah Newhard and Emma Newhard all of Meadville and five great grandchildren, Jayda, Olivia, Tyler, Nalani and Leo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 543 Randolph Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 543 Randolph Street, Meadville with Rev. Doug Messerall, former Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
