Caroline C. Lundell

Caroline C. Crabb Lundell, 85, an elder at Rolling Fields, passed away there, Sunday, November 26, 2017. She was born September 14, 1932 in Meadville, the eldest daughter of John and Florence Crabb. She married J. Donald Lundell August 23, 1952 and he survives. Following graduation from Meadville High School in 1950, Caroline was employed in the office of the Harley D. Carpenter Electric Utility Company. She subsequently worked for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture beginning in 1970 as a program assistant in the local A.S.C.S. and in 1983 was promoted to county executive director from where she retired in 1992. She enjoyed working with farmers and assisting them in their programs. A very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Caroline served on church council and as treasurer for many years. She also served on the board of directors of the Quality Living Center and in the craft building at the county fair for several years. She was an active member of the Meadville Womens Club. Caroline was very talented in knitting, sewing, quilting and similar activities. Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Don of 65 years, include three children, Dennis (Denise) of Akron, OH, Susan (Jack) of Meadville, and Robert (Paula) of Copley, OH; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley McGarry of Mentor, OH and Isabelle Moss (Samuel) of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Buckley (Pat) of Titusville and Mark (Valerie) of Blooming Valley; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy; a sister, Dianne; and a brother, Eugene. Calling hours will be Thursday, November 30th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. The funeral service will be Friday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ben Travis, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
