Carolyn C. Zur

Carolyn “Kelly” C. Zur, 75, of Meadville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2024, in her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born in Meadville on October 1, 1948, a daughter of Charles and Florence (Guenther) Cronin. She married Marion “Mun” Zur on June 4, 1988, he survives.

Carolyn was a 1966 graduate of St. Agatha High School. She worked for the former Spencer Hospital and then Meadville Medical Center in their accounting department. In 1999 she retired to take care of her two adopted children, Andrew and Anastasia. She was a lifelong member of St. Agatha and The Epiphany of The Lord Parish. Carolyn was a member of the St. Agatha Rosary Society where she served on various committees. She was also a member and longtime treasurer of Black Ash Sportsmen’s Club. She was an avid trap shooter and enjoyed going to trap shoots with her brother Denny. She loved to bake for special occasions or as needed for the Rosary Society. She loved to golf with her friends and was an avid gardener, bird watcher, and enjoyed playing Mahjong. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs and cats. Carolyn enjoyed downhill skiing and took trips out west, New England, and Austria with her husband and friends and loved traveling with them.

Survivors include her husband, Marion of 36 years; a daughter, Anastasia Zur of Meadville; one son, Andrew Zur and his wife Jacquelynn Ware of Pittsburgh, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Norman, and Dennis Cronin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville with Father Kyle Seyler, Pastor of the church as celebrant. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC. 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Seton Catholic School, Yolanda G. Barco Oncology, Hospice of Crawford County or the Black Ash Sportsman’s Club.
