Carrie S. Waid

Mrs. Carrie S. Waid, widow of the late Dr. J. T. Waid, died Monday morning after a brief illness at at her home in Meadville.

She was born in Moreau, NY, April 20, 1955, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Wood.  The family later moved to Guys Mills, where she was for a number of years a teacher in the public schools, until the time of her marriage to Dr. Waid, of Ridgway.  She resided the greater part of her life in Ridgway, coming to Meadville 13 years ago.

Mrs. Waid was an active member of the Park Avenue Congregational Church, and a member and officer of its Women's Missionary Society for several years.  For a long period she was registrar of the Congregational Conference of Pennsylvania.  Mrs. Waid belonged, also to Colonel Crawford Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ida E. Wood, with whom she resided.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
