Carva J. (Cookie) Black, 71, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born February 4, 1952, in Akron, OH, a daughter of Roy Wells and Loretta McEwen LaBarre. She married Bradley T. Black on January 2, 1971.
Carva was a 1970 graduate of Central Hower High School, Akron. She worked as a machine operator at various machine shops. Carva was a former member of Vernon Central Hose Company auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling in the Plaza Lanes Women’s League, was an avid artist, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Brad, include two children, April Atha (Andy) of Guys Mills and Jason Black of Conneaut Lake; four grandchildren, Nick and Zack Atha and Bell and Eden Black; siblings, Kevin Wells (Marilyn), Brian Wells (Ruth) and Merrilynn Jenkins (Butch), all of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Barry Wells.
A Celebration of Carva’s life will be held at a later date.
