Catherine Isobel Smith

Catherine Isobel (Ella) Smith, 81, of Meadville, died Sunday, January 19, 1997, at Crawford County Care Center following an extended illness. She was born in Tighnabruaich, Argyll, Scotland, September 26, 1915, a daughter of the late John and Jessie (Harvey) Cooke. She married Harrington A. Smith, February 3, 1947. He survives. She was a graduate of Glasgow and West of Scotland Commercial College. She was a homemaker who loved music and reading. She also was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer. She served four years in the British Royal Navy during World War II, during which time she met her future husband. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Mrs. Murice (Seona) Brown of Ogden, UT and Mrs. Kenneth (Holly) Unice of Meadville; a brother, Tom Cooke of England and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ian Smith and a brother, John Cooke. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville. Services Past Services
